South Regional Director

Are you an experienced leader looking for an exciting new challenge?
Due to recent and continuing demand from national clients, we have a great opportunity for an experienced regional leader to join our business and lead the delivery of exciting and complex projects. This is a client facing role and will require you to lead on both new build and refurbishment projects, working from early planning to end delivery phase and requires strategic decision-making, excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of the industry.
Role and responsibilities
Take the lead on complex and challenging projects within the Southern Region for the companies’ National clients.
Responsible for the development of new business within the region, with specific emphasis in the following sectors: Defence, Education and Ministry of Justice.
Implement and contribute towards our developing strategic plan to meet growing client demands and business targets within the region. This will include managing budgets, scheduling project expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Liaising with stakeholders and represent the company at client meetings and project bid interviews, in support of our clients own strategic targets.
Contribute towards the companies’ technical standards and be a significant contributors to the Technology Committee, which will advance our integration of new technology within the business.
Manage, encourage, support, and motivate our engineering teams in other areas of the business who will support you in the delivery of the projects.
Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development and maintain CPD records in accordance with the requirements of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers is essential .
Recognise the importance of clear communication with all members of the design and/or construction team regarding matters of structural safety, and keep up-to-date with information provided by CROSS (Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures (see www.cross-safety.org/uk).
Software capabilities
Experience in the use of project management software such as MS Project, would be an advantage but not necessary
Education requirements
BSc/BEng or equivalent degree.
