Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Location - Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham,
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in Building Services. You will join our highly experienced and successful team in our Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham office.
To work effectively as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you are required to work coherently with the team to scheme, design, coordinate, draw and check our projects. You must successfully prepare accurate designs and coordinate risks, options, and opportunities with the clients. You are expected to be a good communicator and highlight early any matters of uncertainty or opportunity within your projects. You would also be expected to advise on programme and delivery progress in support of your Senior Engineer at regular intervals.
Role and responsibilities
Prepare design calculations and drawings for the full range of Mechanical Services under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.
Support Senior Engineers in carrying out the project design from commencement to completion.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and other construction professionals about projects.
Manage task work within pre-agreed time frames and delivery dates. Where necessary agree any deadline extensions with your immediate manager.
Attend meetings with clients and other construction professionals.
Keep up to date with the CPD requirements within CIBSE/IMechE.
Work towards your chartership with the support of your mentor and colleagues regularly and systematically.
Follow instruction, but confident enough to ask for explanation if required.
Support senior staff on site investigations, complete inspections, identify issues and solve problems.
Show initiative and manage time effectively.
Qualifications
HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent certified Mechanical Engineer.
Graduate member of a professional Institute (CIBSE, iMechE etc)
