Graduate Civil Engineer, Leeds

Are you a qualified Civil Engineer with 2–3 years of post-graduate experience, seeking to develop your career within a professional and collaborative consultancy environment?
We’re looking for a Civil Engineer with 2/3+ years of post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with the team to design and deliver projects to a high standard. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate, well-considered designs, while identifying and coordinating risks, opportunities, and options with clients. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be expected to build positive working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
Role and responsibilities
Prepare analysis and/or design calculations, reports, and drawings under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, and in a form that can readily be checked by another member of staff.
Apply and develop your knowledge of Highways Act, Water Industry Act, Land Drainage Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, and other Statutory Instruments effectively.
Support the team in project design from commencement to completion.
Produce clear, sketches with annotations as necessary.
Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other construction professionals in relation to projects.
Attend meetings with clients and other construction professionals as required.
Keep your professional development up to date with IPD/CPD expectations and/or requirements for Graduate Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Work towards your Chartership with the support of your mentor and colleagues in a regular and systematic manner.
Undertake thorough site investigations, complete inspections (with supervision from senior staff as required) to identify any potential issues or problems and suggest possible solutions.
Follow instructions from senior staff but be confident enough to ask for explanation and/or advice, if required.
Complete and submit your timesheets accurately and in a timely manner.
Show initiative and manage your time effectively.
Software capabilities
Apply and develop your knowledge of AutoCAD, PDS Site Developer / Civil 3D, Flow / Micro-drainage or similar hydraulic design software, TEDDS, and other industry-recognised software such as pdf mark-up tools, as appropriate.
Education requirements
BEng/MEng or equivalent degree from a JBM-accredited course in Civil Engineering or associated subject.
