Gordon House in Bamber Bridge is an £8million development of a new three storey high specification office block with associated car parks, external works and access road.
The structure comprises a steel frame with striking elevation treatments offering a combination of glazed curtain walling, stone and brickwork cladding.
The project included the use of sustainable urban drainage systems. Thermal modelling was used during the concept development to test design options such as the use of “Brise Soleil”, which was adopted to the south elevations to reduce solar gains.
The environmental control system is a combination of fresh air and a variable refrigerant flow heat pump system, providing both zone and local control.
Construction commenced in July 2005 and was completed in December 2006, with the building being populated early this year.
The intention was to create a landmark building to reflect the aspirations of the Client.
