Conversion of all the floors within the ‘wing’ and the top floor of the main building from predominantly office space to a new ‘University Centre’, refurbished by SEEDA, for use by the University of Brighton. The University will be using it for Further Education, including computer science courses. This involved the internal refurbishment of approximately 1700m2 as well as the creation of a new ‘front door’. Full vertical separation works were required between the stem and the head of the T. The building is compliant with current building regulations and the DDA. At ground level to the front of the building are a number of retail units, which have remained in place during and after the refurbishment work.
