Gateways to Oldham Project Commenced
The £113 million Gateways to Oldham project started in December following a ground-breaking ceremony held in Chadderton.
Inspiral, the consortium of Wates, Great Places Housing Group and Regenter, signed a 25-year contract to deliver improved public-housing services in the borough.
Clancy Consulting is appointed Civil, Structural, Building Services Engineering and Sustainability Consultants as part of the support team.
The Gateways to Oldham project will provide new and refurbished housing on four sites across the borough. 317 new Council homes will be built with the option to rent or buy. The project will also see 322 refurbished Council homes and enhanced recreational facilities including two new community centres and a retail unit. Improvements will also be made to parking provision, footpaths and street lighting.
Needless to say, the road to achieving financial close has been longer than anticipated by all but the goal has been finally achieved. We now look forward to the delivery of the service.
