John Stonehouse

Since 1993 John has been responsible for the overall management of the Newcastle office, during which time the office has grown to a present staff of seven. During the 1990s the office workload relied heavily upon the domestic subsidence market but this emphasis shifted over the turn of the century. Now John's client base is much wider and includes developers, builders and fellow construction professionals as well as providers of healthcare and education. Regular commissions are received from the industrial, leisure and retail sectors also.
John was born in rural Northumberland and educated at Barnard Castle, County Durham before reading Civil Engineering at Newcastle University. Since graduating, John spent four years with a contractor followed by a further four years with Northumberland County council. Over the following five years John worked with two local consultancies before joining Clancy in 1990.
Having been brought up on the family farm, John developed a love of outdoor activities at an early age and this is reflected in his sporting pursuits. John is a keen game angler and counts shooting, deerstalking and horse riding amongst his regular activities. Recently, John has taken a share in a motor cruiser, which is intended to add sea fishing to the list.
