History
The original practice was founded in 1972 in south Manchester by Brian Clancy who lent his name to the firm that traded as Brian Clancy Partnership during it’s formative years. The firm grew steadily over the ensuing quarter of a century during which time many of the present senior managers joined and assisted in the development of the firms highly regarded reputation. Many of the clients that entrusted their work to the firm in those earlier years remained clients for many tens of years becoming close friends of the firm as much as clients.
As the business continued to develop, an office was initially opened in London, followed by Liverpool and Newcastle. In the late 1980’s and following much encouragement from Clients, the firms range of expertise was extended by the addition of Building Services resulting in the ability to offer a multi-discipline engineering service to clients.
In 1999 the original partnership was incorporated and in 2000 the present trading style of Clancy Consulting Ltd was adopted. A Birmingham office was opened in 2004 followed by Norwich and Reading in 2005, the latter being the result of the acquisition of the Baldock Quick Partnership. In July 2010, the acquisition of the Hodgins Smith Partnership extended Clancy's office network into the Scottish market with the addition of bases in Prestwick and Glasgow.
The company presently employs over 160 staff across it’s nine UK offices.
The first overseas office was opened in 2005 in Mumbai, India following the establishment of a Joint Venture with local firm AKG Consulting. As business continued to develop, a further regional office was opened in Pune. We presently employ 40 staff across the two offices in India.
In 2011 following our involvement in a number of projects across the Middle East, we opened an office in Muscat, Oman with local Partner Saba Engineering and commenced operations in Kuwait through our involvement in the Consortia Advent Global.
