Clancy Consulting have just been awarded the ‘Q Mark Plus’ certificate from BM TRADA Certification for the design of timber frame structural components. This provides the evidence to our clients that we are conducting our business to a level that is higher than the basic entry level into UKTFA (UK Timber Frame Association). The UKTFA provides technical backup to the industry and its members, of which Clancy Consulting Ltd is among its number.
Projects undertaken range from single storey housing to five storey apartments blocks, although
we have experience up to seven storeys in timber frame. We have a regular throughput of timber frame consultancy work, not just the occasional house. Among our main clients are some of the major players in the timber frame industry, but in addition we also provide a valuable service to the smaller fabricators.
As part of our commitment to the cutting edge of offsite procurement methods, we are able to offer early advice to Clients, Architects & Contractors on the suitability of timber frame construction for proposed schemes.
Overall structural concept and design from roof to foundation can be provided; embracing timber frame superstructure, transfer slabs, steel / concrete podiums, foundations, drainage and building services. This enables a balanced overall view of structural form to be considered, providing a cost effective building. It is usual for each sub-contract package to look after their own interests at the expense of others, thereby possibly increasing the overall cost of the project and not assisting the progress of the project as a whole.
