A dedicated Building Surveying Team carry out inspections and report on building structures in many forms.
We have experience of working closely with organisations such as English Heritage and Planning Authorities, often where retention of existing structures is a necessity.
We also have the skills and technical knowledge, in conjunction with practical experience, to develop sympathetic structural design solutions to repair and alter existing buildings. So often such projects require experienced “engineering judgement” as opposed to blind compliance with Codes of Practice or Building Standards.
We work in close consultation with other members of the design team in order to arrive at economical and balanced solutions, giving due regard for practical solutions versus architectural aspirations.
With existing buildings, we also offer the benefit of considerable knowledge and expertise in connection with the Health & Safety issues which particularly need to be addressed when buildings are to be remodelled.
We have widespread knowledge of facade retention schemes, be these single or multiple elevations.
