The original school building was constructed in the 1960s and comprised 4 classroom units. The extension design doubled the total classroom areas and included a sports hall to the rear. The design concept by AD Architects was to create a central “street” running through the middle of the new areas and continuing through the original block.
The street has the effect of providing a communal space for pupils and allowing staff to maintain visual control over the whole length of the school.
